The Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation promoted on May 28, 2009 the book “Lobbying of Local Government” by MSc Marjan Tanuševski. The purpose of the author was to study the knowledge and advantage of lobbying of the decentralization process and the increased competences of the local government. The book deals with the main contemporary theoretical concepts and scientific views related with the definition of lobbying in the context of the public relations process. “The book is a pioneering initiative in the field of scientific knowledge in general and the local government in particular. The book aims to change the awareness of all entities and representatives of the local government,” says PhD Konstantin Petkovski, one of the reviewers. The author of the book, Marjan Tanuševski, emphasized that the decentralization was not the only guarantee for efficient local government. According to him, there are many factors that affect this process and one of the key factors is the human factor that has to have capacity and lobbying skills. The book also includes the findings of a survey in which 71 of 85 mayors participated. The publication is supported by MCIC and will be distributed to all municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia.
