MCIC, since its foundation in 1993, has been active in the field of capacity development, on individual, organizational and institutional level. MCIC employs this approach in order to strengthen the capacities of the civil society organizations, local self-governments, state institutions, enterprises, schools and other organizations requiring capacity building. The capacity development component represents an important part in the MCIC’ program portfolio. MCIC has realized several programs in the framework of which different methodologies have been employed: training, consultation, evaluation and analyses. Part of the topics for which MCIC develops capacities encompasses: project cycle management, organizational management, institutional development and organizational strengthening, strategic planning, program/project management, human resources management, administrative and archive operations, financial management, public relations, communication skills, facilitation and presentation skills, training of trainers, intercultural learning, etc. MCIC has implemented total of 418 training encompassing 6980 participants. MCIC has led the process of strategic planning in more than 15 organizations, such as: Macedonian Chambers of Commerce; Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Macedonia; Association of Public Prosecutors of Macedonia; Association of Judges, etc. MCIC has provided technical support to the Government of Republic of Macedonia for the preparation of a strategy for cooperation with the civil society sector and has strengthened the capacities of the governmental Unit for Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Organizations. MCIC has also conducted several organizational assessments and evaluations of projects/programs, including: evaluation of the National Strategy for Anti-Trafficking; evaluation of CORDAID activities in Albania; assessment of the organizational capacities of Ombudsman in the country; assessment of the organizational capacities of 26 partner organizations of OSCE, etc. For the needs of the monitoring missing of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), MCIC undertook several evaluations of the organizational capacity of the OSCE partners and prepared and implemented plans for development of their capacities. MCIC trainings are also part of the official catalogue of authorized training providers, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science. MCIC conducts training for schools included in the Education Modernization Project. In the framework of the activities for capacity development, MCIC cooperates with international consulting companies, among which are: Management for Development Foundation – The Netherlands, International NGO Training and Research Centre – Intrac – Great Britain, COWI – Danemark, World Alliance for Citizen Participation—CIVICUS – USA, European Centre for Not-For-Profit Law-Hungary, etc. References:
