On May 29, 2009, the Council of the Civic Platform of Macedonia held its seventh session on the premises of MCIC. The report on the implementation of the previous program of the Platform was reviewed and adopted, with focus on the lessons learned that should be taken into consideration when planning the next programme.

The members of the Council discussed the strategic objectives of the CPM. The members gave their views on the role of CPM in the society. Four strategic goals were adopted at the session, which were further developed in strategic guidelines. The goals were previously developed through a process that started in March at the strategic workshop held in Ohrid. Special working group has drafted the goals and has proposed them to the CPM’s Committee. With the amendments proposed at the session of the Council, the following strategic goals were adopted:

• Increasing the influence of the civil society sector on the policies
  
• Increasing the influence on the state policies pertaining to the civil society
  
• Creating favorable conditions for easier access to domestic resources and international and domestic funds
  
• Improving the efficiency and functionality of CPM and its members
  

The Council has obliged the Committee to start the process of developing new programme of CPM, which will be based on the new strategic goals.
