A seminar on “Introduction to the Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance and IPA Community Programs” was held on April 22 and 23 in Veles. The training was organized for the purpose of capacity building of the small and medium enterprises (SME) in the Municipality of Veles.
The training was attended by 15 representatives of the SMEs and Saško Ristovski, head of the IT and Local Economic Development Department in Veles municipality. The training was delivered by Tanja Hafner Ademi, MCIC trainer on EU funds and Aleksandar Gumberovski, external trainer. The objective of the training was to provide basic information on the IPA and the Community Programs so that the participants can learn about the opportunities being offered to them as well as to gain basic skills and knowledge on how to apply for funds by using the log frame approach. The participants have prepared an example of log frame through practical exercises. The evaluation showed that the participants were satisfied with the obtained information and acquired skills. For most of them this was the first seminar they attended on EU funds and expressed their interest in participating in a longer and in-depth seminar or training on the same topic. In that way, they could implement the gained skills for mobilization of EU funds for their enterprises. The Municipality of Veles, which commissioned the training, announced further support to SMEs on capacity building.
