Tailor Trainings and Consultations for OSCE - Open Gate |
Open Gate is one of the OSCE’s partners which is active in the field of trafficking. The two main interventions which are being conducted by Open Gate are the project for shelter for victims of violence and the SOS helpline. Besides the provided funds for covering the implementing activities, a support to the measures for capacity building was provided, which should be implemented in 2007. At the end of 2006, MCIC (as a partner to OSCE in the capacity building area), conducted an assessment of the Open Gate’s capacity and provided a plan for building its capacities. In the framework of this project, an intensive programme for capacity building of Open Gate was implemented. The same was founded on the identified needs in the assessment and proposed plan for capacity building, proposed by MCIC, as well as the needs identified after the ending of the support on behalf of the supporters to the two largest projects of the organization. The overall goal of the project was to contribute to the improvement of the capacities which will enable improvement of the capacities in order to provide sustainability of the main activities of Open Gate: Project for shelter for victims of violence and the SOS helpline. The target group of the project was the staff of the civil society organization Open Gate, Skopje. The expected results from the project were: improved / revised systems and procedures for project cycle management; improved / revised systems and procedures for administrative working, financial management and office management; developed short-term strategy of Open Gate which will cover the main project interventions: project for shelter for victims of violence and SOS helpline, as well as own organizational development as a precondition for provision of continuity and sustainability of own activities and improved knowledge and skills of the staff of Open Gate in project cycle management, administrative working, human resource management. advocacy and lobbying, mobilization of local resources and building networks and partnerships. In the framework of the project, the following activities were realized: project cycle management – first phase (on-job training / mentorship); project cycle management – second phase (on-job training/mentorship); administrative working, financial and other systems and procedures – first phase of on-job training / mentorship; administrative working, financial and other systems and procedures – second phase on-job training / mentorship; training on strategic planning; training on human resource management; training on advocacy and lobbying; training on financial sustainability and local resource mobilization; training on networking and partnership. MCIC was fully responsible for the programme implementation. The funds for this programme implementation were provided by OSCE as well as by own funds in the ORR programme. The time period of programme implementation was April 15th – October 15th 2007. The budget amounted to 264.177,00 MKD (direct costs). |
