The first of three part training on presentation skills for lawyers was held on June 6 and 7, 2009. The training was commissioned by the Rule of Law Department of the OSCE Spillover Mission to Skopje.

The lawyers also had an opportunity to attend several thematic training sessions on the novelties in the Law on Criminal Procedure, also organized by OSCE Mission. These sessions were focused on the investigative techniques of the defense and preparation of a case study as well as theories and techniques of cross examination.

The improved presentation skills and the training of trainers should prepare the lawyers to become trainers in the topics they already attended. They should be able to transfer their knowledge to their colleagues in order to implement the latest changes in the Law on Criminal Procedure.

During the training they learned more about the communication process, practiced the communication skills and learned how to prepare good presentation. Their dedication and commitment are good foundation for becoming skilled trainers.

The other two parts of the training are planned for September 2009.
