The overall goal of the project was to contribute to the overarching long-term awareness raising, peace and stability in the country, through development and promotion of full self-reliance and effective institutions and civil society organizations for protection of human rights. The objectives of the project were: to strengthen the capabilities of the implementing partners of OSCE – civil society organizations and institutions for provision of funds for long-tern sustainability, through attending structured programmes for capacity building; to increase the visibility of the implementing partners of OSCE – civil society organizations and institutions in the general public and to strengthen the communication among the civil society organizations and institutions, thus enabling their networking and creation of partnerships with different stakeholders. The target group of the project was the staff and activists of 11 civil society organizations and institutions – partner organizations of OSCE. Expected results: raised awareness on the importance of strategic planning and development of strategic plans of 8 organizations; improved skills for and knowledge of effective public relations; developed mid-term strategies for public relations for 5 organizations; improved skills, knowledge and practical guidelines for lobbying and advocacy for 8 organizations; provided consultations for lobbying and advocacy for 8 organizations; civil society organizations are informed on the context of the Macedonian civil society; civil society organizations are informed about the Strategy of The Government for Cooperation with the Civil Society Sector; the civil society sector is informed about the Macedonia tax framework adhering to their operations; improved skills and knowledge and raised awareness on the importance and use of various tools for monitoring and evaluation; improved skills and knowledge for development and use of log frame; developed skills of 6 organizations from the civil society sector for training delivery; improved skills for mobilization of resources for 8 civil society organizations. Within the project, the following activities were realized: Implementation of 2 workshops for strategic planning and consultations for strategic planning for 6 organizations; training for strategic planning – basic; training for public relations skills; training on lobbying and advocacy; informative seminar on the context of the civil society (Index of Civil Society); Informative seminar for fiscal framework of the civil society; training on monitoring and evaluation; training on log frame; training for trainers; training on mobilization of resources; assessment of the needs for capacity building of the youth network Blue Sky, Skopje; facilitation of a workshop of the working group of the National Anti-Discrimination Coordinative Body; seminar for preparation of the final financial reports and audit. The funds required for the implementation of the programme were provided by OSCE. The time period for implementation was April 1st – December 20th 2007. The project costs amounted to 1.378.153,50 MKD. |
