VISION AND MISSION
The Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) is a
civil society organization that believes in peace, harmony and
prosperity of
Macedonia
and the Balkans, integrated in the Euro-Atlantic institutions and
international community, founded on (universal) principles of civil
society and participatory democracy, rule of law, equal social and
economic development, non-violence, interdependence and cultural
diversity.
MCIC strives to facilitate and introduce changes for solution to the
societal challenges, by means of innovation and establishment of
alternative models and their mainstreaming.
MCIC will be guided in its work by the principles of participation,
transparency and accountability, partnership, tolerance,
entrepreneurship, sustainability and equal approach.
LONG-TERM GOALS
MCIC’s long-terms are:
- equal and sustainable economic development which leads to social
cohesion and decrease of poverty through rural and regional
development, employment, entrepreneurship, education and access to
public services;
- diversified and indigenous civil society which promotes inclusion
of large number of interest groups that affect the mainstreams of
the societal living;
- just and democratic society founded on principles of good rule of
law,
decentralized system of governance and high degree of trust;
- accepted cultural diversity, interdependence and dialogue
reflected in all spheres of public life;
- established partnerships for development and strengthened social
capital.
METHODOLOGY
MCIC realizes its activities through:
- advocacy (research, information, awareness building, education;
creation of and influence in policies; monitoring and requesting
accountability);
- capacity building (training, consultations, needs and
capacity assessment; evaluation of programmes and organisations);
- co-financing (including management of other organizations and
networks);
GOALS
Having in mind its vision, mission and long-term goals, MCIC during
2007 will be active in accomplishing the following results:
- supported local development;
- improved educational structure;
- supported opportunities for employment and development of SMEs;
- contribution towards the development of the civil society;
- strengthened accountability;
- strengthened dialogue and tolerance;
- increased social capital.
